Since 2017, it has been an honor to bring you ScratchPad for Dogs and to be a part of so many dogs’ lives. When we first started, we were the first and only scratch board product on the market, born out of my passion for providing a fun, stress-free way to handle dog nail care while strengthening the bond between owners and their pets.
From day one, we’ve made every ScratchPad by hand, right here in my garage in Atlanta. This was a cornerstone of our business, and we’re incredibly proud of the quality and care that has gone into every product we’ve sent out to you. Our mission has always been to create a product that works, one that makes a real difference in the lives of dogs and their humans.
As the years went on and the ScratchPad concept proved its value, new competitors entered the market. Many of these new products are made overseas and at a significantly lower cost. Despite our best efforts, the rising costs of manufacturing in the U.S., ever-increasing component costs, and the growing competition have made it difficult for us to continue in a sustainable way.
We considered following the same route as others by outsourcing production, but after testing those alternatives, I knew the quality wasn’t up to the standard we set for ScratchPad. Staying true to our values—offering the best product, made here at home—has always been our priority.
Unfortunately, it is no longer possible for us to keep up and we have made the difficult decision to close our business. We will continue to sell the remaining inventory of ScratchPads, Starter Packs, Treats, and Refill Packs that we have on hand, but once these are sold out, ScratchPad for Dogs will be closing its doors.
We will continue to provide the training assistance we've always offered to our customers. If you have any questions, please email scratchpadfordogs@gmail.com, as we will maintain that email address.
This has not been an easy decision, but I take comfort in knowing how many dogs’ lives we’ve touched over the years. I'm proud of the fact that our product was so well-loved and in demand that it inspired others to follow our lead and try to replicate it.
More than anything, I’m so grateful for the support and trust you’ve shown us. Your reviews and stories of how ScratchPad has made nail trims less stressful and more fun have meant the world to our whole team. I hope you continue to send them, they absolutely make us smile!
